Just speculating, but psychometrics are still ongoing for this campaign - so it could be that they're waiting for all candidates to get through before moving onto DMIs.

They've heard now got DMi next week, so not sure how they work it, if still psychometrics ongoing as you say

Those of us who’ve applied to Cambridge are still waiting to hear back after the initial SHL online tests, let alone psychometrics, so there’s a good chance other depots are still working through Psychometrics before DMIs.

It is definitely the worst waiting game I have played
Sorry to say but I sat the OPC for Cambridge today. I was contacted a couple of weeks back.

I believe you applied for the November listing and not the February?
no I’m in the same boat I also applied for Cambridge and my application is ongoing it’s just that the other guy may have applied for the November listing.

I get people say it's awful but this was my first crack at the OPC and I didnt find it too bad.
Sorry I can't offer more than that honestly.

Everyone I know who applied has either had a rejection email or sat the OPC. Did you do the online spatial recognition tests?
Yes I done the tests my friend recieved the rejection email and his application status was a fail whilst mine is still pending but no reply
It is normal for them to do it in phases. If you still haven't heard I wouldn't worry too much. They take the first set of high scores through to OPC first and DMI, then if they haven't got enough to pass they will take more though the tests. No rejection means you are still in the running,just a little behind.
Many thanks for the email well that gives me hope. Hopefully it goes well because train driver roles rarely come up

Yeah dont lose hope unless get a rejection email they can keep you on file for months before get a dmi.

I too found it quite easy. As Canisrex said, speak clear and slow, as the assessors are writing the info down as you speak. They are a great bunch at the assessment centre. They really make you feel at ease. After every paper assessment ask for a 5-10 minute break, take a breather and then go back in. I was shaking like a leaf, however the short breaks really helped. Im guessing August will be full as theyd need to schedule medicals and get everyone's notice periods covered etc

Thanks for the tips.
Glad to report I passed, and ironically the MMI was the easiest part of the day for me! To give myself some credit though, that was largely due to my preparation in learning the 6 topics, which then allowed to me relax and speak concisely as I had my answers mapped out.
Now to worry an equal amount about the DMI!

Cheers! I applied for multiple as I was within the commuting distance thankfully. I'm assuming I'll have to make a decision for the DMI but happy to go either way, will see what Recruitment says.

I’ve got my OPC assessment day on the 28th of May. I’m revising and going through the practise material that I’ve been given. When you’re doing the AART at the assessment day, I was curious to find out the duration of time the image stays on the screen before disappearing. The practise material I have, the image literally flashes on and off the screen in less than a second and I’m finding it almost impossible to pass.
Any advice is also welcome. Thank you.

Hi mate,
That’s literally all you get, maybe a second but definitely not more
I focused more on the smaller items like the sign and traffic lights as the cars you will see in your peripheral.
Don’t guess just click what you see and don’t second guess yourself as it’s easy for your mind to think it’s seems something and then you might forget.
