Cross rail

I am going to London today and wondering if the cross rail tickets are included in a day ticket for the subway? Is it worth going on? What route would be worth going to?

I’m not sure what you mean my subway tickets but a one day Travelcard and contactless can be used on the Elizabeth Line.

Thanks. Can anybody recommend any short routes I can take as I am keen to try these new trains. I looked at Stratford as to Liverpool Street but unsure what’s around that area in Liverpool Street.

Might as well ride it to Tottenham Court Road or Bond Street - only a few more minutes and then you're right in the middle of town.

There isn't really a "day ticket for the subway" as such.

There are travelcards, which allow unlimited travel within a given set of zones, by underground, docklands light railway and most rail services, including crossrail (but excluding Southeastern High speed and Heathrow express). They also allow travel anywhere on the London bus system. A travelcard valid for zones 3.4,5 or 6 is also valid on the trams in Croydon. There are also "out-boundary" travelcards which bundle a day return rail journey from outside of London with a travelcard for travel within the zones.

There is also pay as you go with capping, either using London's oyster card or using a contactless payment card. For normal visitors* this is usualy a better deal than day travelcards.

The newly built "Crossrail core" lies entirely within the zones, however some of the existing lines that were taken over by Elizibeth line services lie outside the zones. All of the stations on crossrail will accept contactless pay as you go. Those within the zones, and Shenfield will also accept Oyster.

* If you are going to spend the whole day riding around on trains then a travelcard can be better because pay as you go sometimes suffers from issues in complicated cases. It is unlikely to affect a normal traveller though.

Note that in England English, a "subway" is a walkway under the road which you use to cross it, not a method of transport.
