Are any of these additional services going to be HSTs, as surely there aren't enough voyagers to double up for it (and i doubt they'd be silly enough to use 170s)?

Has an HST ever been to Weymouth even? There was the old XC Summer Saturdays but they were 47s i think???

When I lived in Bournemouth during the 1990's there was the class 47 and MK2 coaches service that went to Weymouth. The HST's at that time only went as far as Poole and were stored in the sidings just along from Poole Station when not in use.

Was unaware that HST's went to Weymouth on summer Saturday services in the 90's, I thought only loco hauled trains with Class 47s went there from Liverpool and Manchester.

Would be nice to see CrossCountry use a HST on one of the Olympic Extras, but doubt it'll happen.

fGW will, I thought, be running HST's but I had heard rumours on XC possibly extending one of their services from Bristol too but I can't imagine that would be feasible without extra stock given it will take a while. Given 125's are definitely cleared surely one of their stored 125's would be perfect but I can't see it happening and the lack of space at Weymouth won't help either.

One of which stored 125s?

XC has 5 HSTs, all of which are already in use in the summer timetable. There are none stored.

Doesn't FGW have a few HST sets spare? Surely if FGW have a few HST sets spare that could be hired in by XC?

Why would FGW have 'spare' HSTs? In the same way that everyone has 'spare' trains because they don't plan to have 100% availability everyday?
