The Swindon & Cricklade Railway currently terminates just over 1 mile from the outskirts of Cricklade. The aim is to reinstate the railway line to Cricklade on the original railway formation.

We are now seeking funds to progress our development northwards towards Cricklade.

In Phase 1 we aim to lay 600 yards of track up to Farfield Lane cutting.

We need to raise £100,000 to recover and refurbish the trackbed and embankments, and also to purchase ballast.
Does anyone have an update on this?

Also, is it currently possible to walk along the old trackbed from South Meadow Lane (just north of Hayes Knoll station) towards Cricklade and Cirencester? And when the extension is complete, will it still be possible to walk the trackbed or will that cease to be possible?

Has anyone walked along the old trackbed to Cirencester?

Went a couple of years back and could virtually walk all of the extension, think run into a housing estate just outside Cricklade, if my memory is correct (which it may not be). Not attempted anything beyond Cricklade.
