In the West Indies v Zimbabwe game, Shrimron Hetmyer came in at no 3 for West Indies at the fall of an early wicket and hit a 19-ball 50 to increase the run rate per over and had on gone into the 70s soon after, the last time that I checked.

West Indies are not messing about - they've set Zimbabwe a target of 251.

West Indies were 254-6 at the end of the 20th over. Hetmyer's innings of 85 from only 34 balls (7 x 6 and 7 x 4) ably abetted by Powell's innings of 59 from 35 balls (4 x 6 and 4 x 4) by the no 3 and 4 batsmen was a stand to remember.

Zimbabwe, in reply, were all out for 147 (17.4 overs)

After 10 overs, West Indies looked to be in a bad position at 83-7, but some tail-end flourish with the bat by number 7 (Holder) with 49 from 31 balls and number 9 (Shepherd) with 52 not out from 37 balls saw the end of the 20th over with West Indies 176-8.

South Africa began in high scoring form and after 7 overs, they were 84-0

In the 3rd match of the Women's ODI series, between Australia and India, there was a very good third-wicket stand of 145 in 15.2 overs by the captain and the wicket-keeper which enabled Australia to post a very high score of 409-7

SA scored 154-5 after 17.5 overs, beating Zimbabwe (153-7) by 5 wickets.

India got 199-5 after 19.2 overs to beat West Indies (195-4) by 5 wickets.

In the semi finals South Africa face New Zealand and England play India.

I thought England did really well to get so close to India's huge score, not many teams get 246 and lose, if it wasn't for Brook's dropped catch we would probably be in the final now.

Today sees day 4 in the Division 2 match between Northamptonshire and Lancashire, which sees Northants needing 312 to win with nine second wickets remaining.

For Lancashire, Jimmy Anderson at his more advanced age as an opening seamer still added another "five for" in the first innings to add to his bowling record and took a wicket in the four overs of the Northants second innings thet were bowled at the end of day 3.

Amazing to see him bowling not only with great skill but with undiluted enthusiasm for the game.

Here though he would be pipped for the unofficial man of the match by Northants' George Bartlett, who came in at a hopeless-looking 50-6 and proceeded to bat with immense concentration for over 4 hours to somehow see his side to a draw with him and last man Ben Sanderson batting for over an hour against an almost new ball.

Has anything changed in regards to the wide rule in the County Championship? I caught a bit of the Surrey livestream before the lunch break and a bunch of wides were bowled which didn't seem anything like wide enough to be called a wide.

In the Rothesey County Championship Division 2 match between Lancashire and Derbyshire, Jimmy Anderson (captain) still showed that he has the ability as a seamer in his 40s and on Day 4 of the match at Old Trafford produced an excellent bowling return of 9.5 - 4 - 18 - 4 in the second innings which won the match for Lancashire.

Rothesay County Championship Division 2

Gloucestershire started Day 1 against Lancashire quite well and after 28 overs, were 80-1. Matters went downhill from there and they lost their last nine wickets for only the addition of 56 runs and were all out for 136 (50.5 overs)

Lancashire batted into Day 2 and were 240 all out (72.2 overs) giving them a first innings lead of 104.

First win of the season for Lincolnshire, with a comprehensive demolition of Bedfordshire, at Dunstable CC. Batting first Lincolnshire made 345 in their 50 overs. Nick Keast the stand out batter with 128 runs. Bedfordshire bowled out for 163.

England Lions were eventually dismissed for 157 (44.5 overs) and South Africa "A" also had a poor start and were 54-5 when their captain, Marques Ackerman came to the crease and played a captain's innings of note, scoring 173 from 136 balls, with 5 x 6 and 25 x 4, which helped South Africa "A" to reach 331 all out from only 58.5 overs.

Was that the Men's match? If so, it was broadcast live on Sky Sports Cricket, and the counties aren't allowed to stream games that are picked for live broadcast. If it was the women's match, then I have no idea!

Surrey have certainly done it for County Championship matches that have been live on Sky - because Sky use the Surrey stream for the broadcast. Let's see what Hampshire do tomorrow for the two games that are live on Sky.

Just seen a superb opening day of the first ever Test between Ireland & New Zealand played @ a sunny Stormont
The Black Caps were 5-361 at the close but that doesn't tell the whole story.
Ireland were ahead in the 1st session having the visitors at 4-86, with Mark Adair taking 3 wickets before Rachin Ravindra 121 & Tom Blundell 142 not out, his highest ever Test score put on 217 for the 5th wicket.
Making his debut for New Zealand Dean Foxcroft was 38 not out at the close and Liam McCarthy making his debut for Ireland took the wicket of Kane Williamson.
Let's hope tomorrows as good.

New Zealand carried on where they left off declaring @ 8-490, giving them 25 minutes to bowl before Lunch.
Tom Blundell made 186, and Dean Foxcroft on his debut was caught on 98, causing the declaration.
Nathan Smith got off to a dream start with a double wicket maiden, leaving the hosts 0-2 after the first over.

Irelands problems continued after lunch with Nathan Smith having 5-9 at one point, and finishing with 6-38. Andy McBrine fought well for his 73 but only Mark Adair 40 and Extras 33 made double figures as Ireland were all out for 179.

There were two double wicket maidens -Smith & Sears and a single one for Smith as well.
Unsurprisingly New Zealand enforced the Follow On.

A rain shower brought lunch forward by 10 minutes with Ireland 5-131, although I'd think really for 6 as Curtis Campher was struck on the hand by a vicious ball from Blair Tickner who really looked good this morning taking 4-47.
Nathan Smith took his 7th in the game with 6 of his 11 overs being maidens.
