The decline in membership is depressing, I'm afraid:

Membership at all clubs has declined except at well-run Surrey, which has doubled its membership (its membership offer is excellent).

Lancs 25% of what it was in 2005! Shocking the way the board has turned its members away from the club in its transition from a Cricket Club to a "venue", capped now with the pointless 100 franchise.

Terrific finish to the County Championship. Squeaky bums at Edgbaston!
Absolutely - cracking day of cricket - despite Hampshire losing. Liam Norwell's performance was utterly superb, especially since he's been out for much of the season. Kept me occupied today having finally succumbed to Covid after avoiding it for 30 months!

Yes he will never again have to buy a drink in the Edgbaston pavilion. 9/62, and match figures of 13/100, it’s no exaggeration to say that he personally kept them up.

As a result of Hampshire not securing many points from their final match, Lancashire finished second in the County Championship with 225 points against the Hampshire total of 224 points.

And second in the T20, and second in the one day cup.

or put another way, consistently first place losers ;)

At least it was most satisfying to beat Surrey in the final County Championship match of the season, scoring over 500 runs in their innings and winning by an innings and quite a lot with a lot of time to spare.

I‘m sure it was, although no doubt Surrey were less incentivised to win given they were already champions :)

I'd suggest Dom Sibley is equally responsible, both in this match and their previous one. Considering he's off to Surrey, it showed a very commendable and professional attitude:James Fuller, Middlesex-bound from Hants too, in both bowling and batting. I can't not mention Ollie Robinson either, the Kent wicketkeeper/batsman that is, not the Sussex and England bowler. He's off to Durham, who I hope will value him better than Kent, considering he played a major part in securing Kent the Royal London one day cup and keeping the county in the First Division for next season with his contributions on the many occasions when Sam Billings, their notional captain, was absent either enriching himself in the IPL, injured, or acting as below par substitute for Ben Foakes in the England side. You will gather that, not for the first time, I think Kent have effectively gone with the wrong choice as keeper: he let through no byes in the victory achieved yesterday either. Matt Milnes is off from Kent to Yorkshire, who will have a new captain in Shan Masood, recruited from Derbyshire: bet he hadn't factored in Second Division still, tee-hee. It couldn't happen to better people: serves them right for getting rid of Steve Patterson.:)

Apologies if this has already been covered - but do many follow the online streams and/or BBC Local Radio commentary streams of County Cricket? I know the quality of the video streams can vary, but overall I think it's an excellent service - and as for the commentary, it is simply superb in my view.

As im not able to get to the cricket as often as I would like, I do use the Notts stream. Really improved and as a floater supporter means I can dip in and out which for me is great.

I appreciate that Durham are often persona non grata (see previous treatment by ECB) but it seems a little much by whoever drew up that table to just pretend we don't exist...
On the plus side, Yorkshire have been relegated!
Indeed most satisfying to see! <:D

It shows the 15 'member-owned' county clubs. Durham, Hampshire and Northamptonshire are private owned.

The members of the 15 'member-owned' clubs can vote to instruct their club to vote against a reduction in Championship fixtures (the ECB needs 12 votes). That's the context of why the table was compiled.

Fair enough!

Now, that's something that's completely new to me ... how are they privately owned, and who owns them, please? (It's not a complaint ... I have never heard of it before!)

I watch many of the streams mainly during the T20 Blast, which is a great evening's entertainment with a few beers.

I listen to the commentaries almost every day they are on during the season when it is practical to do so. I have gravitated to Andrew Radd and his guests at Northamptonshire, mainly because he is excellent, and to be honest it is for their discussions about topical cricket matters that keeps me engaged more than anything.

I've listed to quite a lot of the County Championship coverage on the radio (Five Sports Extra) over the past few years, and it's been very good. It's sometimes a bit irritating to hear the commentators talking about anything other than the cricket, but I can put up with that because most of the time they do talk about the cricket and when they do, they know their stuff. Kevin Howells does a very good job linking it all together - and he's a pretty good commentator himself!

Regarding membership, I was a member of Glamorgan when the fees were very low in the 1980s / 1990s. It was so log (£10 / £15 / £20 I think) that you got your money's worth very quickly. I stopped being a member when the fees increased to their current level, simply because I wasn't getting value for money as I couldn't attend many matches. However, with retirement on the horizon, a membership is definitely on the list of things "to do".

I don't often listen to the live streams because I don't have equipment set up to make it easy to do that. If there's a particularly important (to me) CC match on, then I might log into a live stream.

But like @EbbwJunction1, I listen via Radio 5SX a lot, since I have radios in every room and I can listen while I'm doing household jobs. I'd agree with his approval of Kevin Howells' hosting, Kevin is an excellent presenter with a very relaxed and conversational style. As an aside, I much prefer the BBC team's approach over the shoutier style of Talksport2, which gets too excitable for me.

As one who grew up in Birmingham, I was glued to the radio for the closing hours of the championship last Thursday. I didn't believe until it happened that Warwickshire could dig themselves out of that hole!

Manchester Originals lost the final of The Hundred too just to cap it all off. Seen a trophy lifted against us 4 times this season. :'(

Nothing to do with Lancs - a drafted in franchise team with no connection to the County. Sucking resources and playing time from the schedule to fill the coffers of the ECB.

Durham, Hampshire and Northamptonshire are limited (ltd) companies (i.e. with accounts filed at Companies House). Hants is basically owned by Rod Bransgrove who saved the club from bankruptcy more than 20 years ago. Northants voted to become a limited company in 2016/17. I'm not sure when Durham became a private company. Possibly when it gained FC status.

The Lancashire stream ('Lancs TV') is very good with all the paraphernalia of a professional broadcast (a studio, presenter, pitch report, lunch interview, and guest commentators). I think the Middlesex stream is similar.

Other than sharing numerous playing and coaching staff... and a home ground... and Lancs memberships are valid at Originals games...

Ah, thank you; that makes things clearer.

Comfortable win for England v Pakistan in the T20 decider today. Pakistan's opening batsmen are world class, but there's not much after that.
