What about Mitchell Johnson, he had a great second Test to show that what sets apart a true champion is how they bounce back from having a bad game.

Jimmy Anderson appears to have followed his poor Second Test match in the same way with a bowling return of 14.4 - 2 - 47 - 6 in the Australian first innings today.

Enjoyed good a days cricket with my Dad and my youngest son at Edgbaston, just a pity about the rain. Ian Bell was going well until getting himself out cheaply. Merv Hughes was a miserable sod though, getting lots of attention from the Hollies Stand but not a flicker of recognition; even a two fingered salute would have raised a cheer and a laugh! If England can bat well tomorrow then the game is won. Mitchell Johnson had a lot of stick but still flashed a couple of grins. Good times!

That second sentence good have been written so many times over the years, other than in 2013. Phil Tufnell always gets a laugh in recounting the story of the Aussie fan heckling him with the line 'Hey Tuffers, lend us your brain, I'm building an idiot' but it could apply fourfold to Bell - so much talent, so little sense. Can't agree with you that the game is won, though, loads more runs need scoring first, by England, and have to hope Anderson can exert the magic again second time around.

In all fairness I did say that the game would be won if we could bat well! In all fairness we couldn't do anything about the first two wickets that fell this morning, fantastic aggressive fast bowling.

Yes, I agree, looked out and can fully understand the umpire's decision.....but surely there was nothing to be lost by a 'tactical' review! (with only the tail to follow), in much the same way as Rogers reviewed his dismissal yesterday.

This Test is flashing past but it most certainly is very exciting and an absolute bust up between the two sides.

Australia put on a little more application as they were 111-6 at one time and were 168-7 at close of play with a lead of 23 runs with three wickets left.

Anderson had to leave the field with a tight side. Finn had a good bowling return of 13 - 3 - 45 - 5 in the Australian second innings.

I reckon thats somewhat a by product of IPL. A lot of our test players go off to do IPL games where as in the past in the off season they would go over to England and play county cricket. Today's batsmen get impatient and decide to belt it into the suburb instead of grinding out an innings.
Just look at how Rodgers has played. He managed to grind it out in the first innings.

Well I guess the result of this Test will come down to the first hour today! If England can remove the final three Australian wickets for maybe on 50 runs then I can't see how they can lose. On the other hand if the Australians dig in and survive the first hour and add around 100 runs then it's all best off as far as I'm concerned and it could go either way.

In any event this is a game which won't make it much past Lunch on Day 3...

I wonder what's going to last longer. The rest of this match or tonight AFL match between Hawthorn and Richmond which start ten minutes (1950 our time) before the start of the days play and finishes around 2215-2230 depending on how long each quarter goes for(around 25-30 minutes)

Clarke is absloutly stuffed. Reflexes are gone, even the captanicy this game has been poor. Batting has gone as well he's surely going to give it up at the end.
