Off on a trip up north at the weekend. Does Crewe still have locos stabled that you can see from the platforms. I won't be able to stop there long so a quick jot down of numbers and away. If there aren't any stabled I won't bother calling in
Thanks

Not really no. Very little on the diesel depot except a load of coaching stock. Certainly not like when I were a lad. A Class 57 is usually stabled between Platforms 11 & 12 and that is potentially the only loco you'll see. Sad I know.

Good grief. Things have changed. Do you see much in the sidings when you come from the south on the train now. It's been years since I went

Not really. Basford Hall views are obscured by trees, unless something is ready to depart at the south end views are limited. The carriage sheds on the right hand side offer a potential loco or two, and CD may offer a stored loco or two visible alongside where the Shrewsbury line curves away. That's about it.

CE alongside the Chester line has got a lot of stored loco's but you've got to be quick from a moving train.
