Crewe-Workington with a longer connection time

My dad is trying to go to from Crewe to Workington via the Cumbrian Coast line on the 4th October, and would like to go on the 09.02 from Lancaster to Workington. However the train from Crewe (07.55) that is the best connection only has 10 mins at Lancaster so he would like to get an earlier train at 0709 from Crewe to try and ensure he gets the 0902.
The problem is that no booking engine brings up this 0709-0902 combination to get a cheaper ticket as there is the later connection so I'm just wondering if any of them had an option/way to specify a longer connection time.

Use East Coast or Southern or any other WebTIS engine.

Go to Text only (along the top of the page), enter journey requirements (avoid Carlisle), and on the screen which says Journey preferences - Change preferences, select Extended station change times.

The 0709 should appear with the connection onto the 0902, together with the £9.50 fare.
