Guys.

Travelling between Crewe and Northampton tomorrow. Cheapest is obviously LM's £13 day return supper off peak thing.

But am I right in thinking I could avoid the £51 fare with Virgin and just get a West Midlands Day Ranger for £16 and then be able to travel on whatever route I liked!?

Thanks in advance....

Or, I quite fancy going from Gowobon, presumably that would be fine as well?

Yes, within the West Midlands Day Ranger map.

Yes, but note that Shrewsbury - Crewe is not included in the West Midlands Ranger.

The £51.70 fare is for journeys via Milton Keynes, so a WMDR will not replace that.

The nearest equivalent would be the £38.00 Long Buckby ticket, which for over double the price does allow you to travel back within 1 month (not just 1 day) and also travel much earlier in the morning, from 0415, on weekdays.

For a return on a Saturday for a journey via Long Buckby, the WMDR is your best bet.
