crewe station redevelopment

Has any work started at Crewe yet. I know the new station has been abandoned and I was wondering if any work is now being done to bring the old place up to datc and could. It could do with some tlc and is not unredeemable if the original features are retained and the 60's additions took away.

Work has started in the area around Platform 1, replacing the roof with new glass panels. Progress is quite slow, usually done at night time, replacing four panels per shift. I understand this area is being tackled first, because it is the worst part for missing roof, and water flow/build up during rainfall.

Unfortunately, some of the sandblasting of bricks that BR did in the late 80's, took off their gloss/shine, and the wet conditions has caused them to deteriorate further.
