Anyone agree that this poster is somewhat Orwellian?

Secure beneath the watchful eyes
CCTV & Metropolitan police on buses are just two ways we're making your journey more secure

This poster that first appeared in 2002 has 4 eyes in the sky with the pupils replaced with red TfL roundels watching a double decker bus crossing a bridge

A well-meaning poster but I agree, you do get a very "we're always watching you" type of vibe from it, especially the phrase "secure beneath the watchful eyes".

Definitely!

It's from 2002[*] and created quite a bit of debate at the time.

* The red 'on' in MAYOR OF LONDON is a dead giveaway that it's pre-Boris.
