Hi all,

I've recently bought myself a copy of the rather good Railworks Glasgow to Carlisle WCML route.

I've decided to try to create my own free roam scenario, so I can drive a Super Voyager along the route.

I'm a beginner to the business of making your own scenario, but have managed to assemble 3x5-car 221's together at Carlisle, before adding a driver to it, to make it driveable.

The problem I'm encountering, is that as soon as I double click the front of my train, I either get the error "Train derailed due to consist tilt" or something to do with crashing into an AI train.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

Have you driven on the scenario before?

What happens to me is if i crash on free roam, i have to delete ALL vehicles to get rid of that message when starting it.

Hope this helps
Matt

Hi Matt, thanks for your suggestion.
Admittedly, I haven't done too much messing around, but it only seems to happen when I've got two or more trains coupled together..
It's on a scenario i've made from scratch.

Free roams are a bit tricky for travelling the length of a route with confidence due to pathing issues and mis-set turnouts etc. if I were you I'd create a standard or timetable scenario and use the timetable window to set your player service route and times. You do still need to check the path in the map window, but that's not too hard. Once that's set up you can start adding AI traffic etc to develop things. Free roams are ok for having a good look around a local area, but not for travelling any distance.

Have fun!

Yeah, turnouts etc are often set wrong but can be easily changed (sometimes have to be done quickly if at speed!) by going on the 2D map and Shift + clicking the blue circle to change the route. Getting signal checked (well, yellows etc) can be a good indicator in such situations that you are set for the wrong route

I have a small query, having been given Railworks 2012 for Christmas (& only now looking into fiddling to free roam with what I want/how to build etc)

Is there a way of putting a specific loco (as opposed to just class) e.g. 45110 (not just a BR Black five) into a scenario?

Thanks in advance

Add an Black five as normal. Then double click on the locomotive, a pop out should appear to the right of the screen. Make it come out, then in the number option box put what ever locomotive you want into it.

http://www.uktrainsim.com/FreewarePacks/index.php?p=ThePacks&pack_id=UKSteam1

Has 45110 and a lot of other Black 5's in a better livery. Including many freeware locomotives
