We obviously have a few fans of Crayola on the Forum...

Thanks to Crayola, the brazen glow of the first new blue pigment created in the last 200 years will soon be in the hands of art makers everywhere. The new blue, temporarily labeled "YInMn," will be making its international debut as a crayon in Crayola's new box set slated to be released later this year. The art supplier announced the new crayon last month at The Colorful World of Pigments panel on color theory and invited the public to participate in a naming competition that lets people submit potential name ideas for the new color. The new shade of blue is slated to replace the "Dandelion" color from Crayola's staple 24-color box set

... so, the for crayon enthusiasts amongst you, which historical/modern livery does that particular shade of blue most represent?

Looks somewhere between "impractical Victoria Line extension" and "impractical Piccadilly Line extension".

I think that colour looks more like Crossrail purple than blue. TFL should buy some in advance of services starting so they have enough spare to colour over the graffiti as it starts to appear on their new trains.

Instead of 'YInMn' I propose 'TSGN' as the temporary name and Meadway Blue as the final name.

Looks very much like what you would get from crushing lapis lazuli, but that stone is considered far too valuable to be used for such purposes.

It is a competition to give their new blue crayon colour a name. ( confuses me to!) Clearly new blue or bluer is soooooo obvious therefore I suggest Alan. or Brian. What about Archibald? Hector? Horace?

It's maybe a bit too bright - possibly Pullman blue? Or Caledonian blue, maybe.
