Lines are blocked due to a vehicle striking a bridge between #ThreeBridges and #Crawley ⚠

However the bridge over Southgate Ave has no height warnings according to Google Earth, as has the bridge at Three Bridges itself, which makes a bridge strike less likely.. Other possibilities are that something has struck the parapet at the Hawth (Rail under Road bridge), or it has happened on the access road to the ROC!

Anybody know which bridge?

Just went through the tweets and it is on Williams Way, which is the access road for the ROC...

It was both but about two hours between then, first up was a bridge strike on Williams Way bridge which is a "Red Bridge". Then next was a points failure at Crawley New Yard.

What is a "Red Bridge"? I guess that this is somewhat self inflicted as anything using that road should be on railway business.

A red bridge is a certain classification used by signallers which denotes once a bridge is struck, what must happen.

Green: trains can run normally

Double Amber : first train at 5mph to examine then subsequent at line speed, until bridge is examined by Bridge strike examiner

Amber :first train at 5mph to examine then subsequent at 20 mph, until bridge is examined by Bridge strike examiner

Red: no trains can run until bridge is examined by a Bridge Strike Examiner

What are you trying to get at? It was a lorry that hit it. It's also the access road for the Siemens depot, and the Balfour Beatty yard, which it's more likely the lorry was visiting one of them!

I'm not getting at anything, but its amusing to know the lorry was doing something for the rail industry (or was hopelessly lost!). Of course important instructions like "no tall vehicles for this address" can get lost in the subcontracting chain.
