Covid testing for travel

Heading for Portugal in a couple of weeks; can anyone recommend a testing company, found one that would do an antigen test for £29(think it was C19testing) as these are accepted for travel to Portugal? Any information would be appreciated as obviously I don't want to be denied boarding due to incorrect test or results not coming back on time.

As it's for the Portuguese authorities, rather than the UK, is an NHS lateral flow test enough? It's only the UK that are funny about using NHS tests for travel.

I don't think so as need a certificate with it.

And on a similar note, I am heading to Germany in about 5 weeks time; if the testing requirement is likely to be in place for that, does anyone have any recommendations? Or is it too early to know what will be required by that point?

By the time of travel I will be over 2 weeks post second dose of vaccination.

I'm aware that the UK requires a person to pay for a Covid19 test but as you can currently get those tests for free at various locations then why would anyone want to pay £££ on a test?

It's even more sillier as you can travel in and around Greece without needing to show you've been vaccinated but upon your return you need to take a Covid19 test.

Personally I hope they scrap them and only make them advisory if you show any symptoms of Covid19 especially as the UK govt seems to change their minds often that even planning 5 weeks ahead isn't possible.

I would recommend you get a paper copy of your vaccination status (call 119). I have mine, saves any worries about technical issues with the NHS app. Not sure about Germany, but I've heard France is about to put the UK on its green list, meaning no testing required for entry for vaccinated people. The French authorities have finally twigged that as it's impossible to keep the Delta variant out, they may as well reopen tourism.
