How did Sweden’s death rate compare to neighbouring countries?

If it wasn’t lockdown what did stop the infection rates exploding across Europe?
Again this has been covered in various threads before, but I'll answer anyway.
If you want to completely "stop" infection rates you would have to lockdown
forever; this is totally unrealistic!
Any measure you introduce to reduce the infection rate will have an effect; therefore a sustainable strategy is to introduce sufficient measures to avoid the health system collapsing, but locking down is not a sensible solution.
Some people think that a lockdown makes it go away, for example:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-53244688
...in the Czech Republic, a party has been held to give the coronavirus a "symbolic farewell".
Thousands of guests sat at a 500 metre-long (1640ft) table on the Charles Bridge in Prague on Tuesday sharing food and drinks they had brought from home...
Some people believed that, because they locked down early enough, the virus would be eliminated.
This is a complete fallacy.
The reality is that they are back to where they were without a lockdown. It was all for nothing. All they did was delay it.
I think most countries now realise locking down isn't the answer, but some people just can't see the big picture.
I can’t face those threads but that doesn’t match what I have read elsewhere.
i am surprised by this forum - elsewhere the government are getting slaughtered for not locking down early enough.
Really? Can you provide a link and quote so I can disagree with them.
Spain locked down early, and very harshly. How are they doing now compared to Sweden?
Sweden was lucky in being late - so things weren’t so bad when lesser measures than a full lockdown took place, meaning they were more effective.
I've no idea what you are saying here
I am not willing to bet the farm on the example of one small country’s experience, when we don’t fully understand what has caused the differences in countries’ experiences.
Your lack of understanding is clear, and noted, but what point are you actually making?
