Coventry to Bicester

Mum wants to go on Friday, so one adult ticket to either Bicester station (I think only north is accessible direct from Leamington?). What's the cheapest this can be done return please?

Same day, return, travel whilst it's cheap. One adult.

Bicester North is £18.00 for an off-peak day return and arround a £10 cheaper than Bicester Town.

I haven’t looked at splits, but this should answer the first part of your question.

Valid as follows:

OUTWARD TRAVEL:
By any train except those
timed to arrive at London
Terminals before 1000 Mondays
to Fridays.

RETURN TRAVEL:
By any train except those
timed to depart Mondays -
Fridays before 0930 if
travelling via London. Valid
on any Chiltern Railways

You'd be better off getting the Anytime Day Return. It's 60p cheaper than the Off-Peak Day Return and (obviously) valid any time.

Probably because the Off-Peak Day Return is not regulated, the price has been increasing at a higher rate than the Anytime Day Return. Perhaps no one at Chiltern's pricing department ever noticed that the price is now higher than the Anytime Day Return.

It's a shame this sort of thing happens - thats a genuinelly useful ticket (both for controlling peak demand for the TOC and controlling spend for the passenger!) made completely useless by our bizarre fare system.

I wouldn't fancy that myself.
COV-LMS Anytime Day Return is only £3.25 so a fairly good split.

Leamington Spa - Bicester North is £13.20 without Railcard discount, and Coventry - Leamington Spa is £4.90, so £18.10 in total. Cheaper not to split. OP did not indicate any Railcard held, otherwise 1/3 off all prices.

Apologies - it appears I left the railcard discount in brfares from a previous search. I thought that seemed terribly good value compared to the number 12 bus (and at £4.90, still does). And I was taking TomJ93's word on LMS-BCS being £8.
