Coventry's Park & Ride North Service is being withdrawn
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-22983535A park and ride bus scheme in Coventry is to close because it is making "heavy losses", according one of the companies operating it.
Park and Ride North, launched in 1999, is run by by Centro, Coventry City Council and Travel de Courcey.
Centro said the service is being used by an average of under three passengers a trip and is losing money.
The service, which operates from a 163-space car park in Austin Drive, will cease operation on Saturday, 27 July.
Guy Craddock, from Centro, said: "Even though the service is subsidised by Centro at around £1,900 per week it is still making heavy losses."
He said the number of car trips into the city centre are not likely to increase because surveys of passengers showed they would either transfer to Park and Ride South or use another bus service.
