Court summons southeastern

Hi all,


Some advice would be much appreciated. I have received a court summons with a date and letter asking me to state my plea. I was accused of travelling on a ticket which didn't cover my whole journey. I am not intending to fight it as they have a statement from me that agreed to what they said.

What I would like to know is if I can still settle out of court providing I can get in touch with the southeastern prosecution department ? I fear a criminal record will greatly affect my career, something I know I should have considered.

Does anyone know how to contact them as I can't find a number or address anywhere? Maybe someone who has contacted them before..

Please don't tell me how wrong I've been for doing it - I know and I'm very regretful.

Potentially, yes. It's possible to settle right up until the case is called. However there is no guarantee that Southeastern will accept your offer.

Unfortunately I don't have any contact information, I would have thought that there would be contact information on the paperwork they've sent you to date.

The summons will have on it the details of who issued it, which is who you need to contact.

Unless evidence of who issued it is included the Court office will not have authorised issue.

Write to the name and address provided where the summons says 'information laid by................' and send your letter by recorded delivery.
Copying the letter to the Court might be useful too.

I have quite a few sheets of information, I also have a statement from the inspector that spoke to me at the time. I assume this is the evidence that you mention ?

the only addresses I can see are those for the court, so it looks like i haven't got an address for the toc itself...
