Could we see more stations on the Hertford loop one day?

A few years back there was a plan to expand Watton into a bigger town with lots of housing west of the railway. If that came back then I'm sure trains would follow.

The other missing item is a Stevenage south station on the Hertford line to encourage people off the A602.

Can’t help but smile at this one. Might as well build a wall round the place for commuting by road - solid traffic at peak times into all the surrounding towns from the Watton direction even now, Hertford, Stevenage, Welwyn and Hatfield. I’ve always thought there’d be a fairly good case for reinstating Hertford-Welwyn-Hatfield-Smallford-St Albans, and tacking this onto the existing St Albans-Watford service. Ultimately something needs to be done with Hertfordshire’s increasingly dire traffic, as eventually the A1(M) is going to implode on itself.

I'm with you - my route is more circular - Watford Junction, St Alban's Abbey, Smallford, Hatfield, Welwyn, Hertingfordbury, Hertford East.
Of course could make the met line London Overground, do the Croxley diversion to Watford Junction and make a complete West to East circular.
