Star Trek transporters aren't invented for over a century. I'm sure computer memory is better by then. And besides they are always faulty anyway.

All that's needed for the transporter to work is the molecules on both ends like Water. DNA can be stored on computers now. The atoms don't have to be the same ones just the same type.
Prof. Kaku did a TV show on the possibillity on SciFi devices including this.
He suggested that the strange quantom entantlement effect (where it's possible to influence similar atoms far away instantly) could be used.
Transporters will become more feasible with the rapid improvement of 3D printing.

Apart from any other problems, you need to reassemble your brain with exactly the same interconnections - otherwise all your memories will be totally scrambled.

Krauss, which discusses the amount of energy & computer memory, etc., required to implement various "devices". I remember reading that book, many moons ago: I think DS9 was still being shown on BBC2 at the time!
