Could the Waterloo and City line stock be replaced soon?

I was wondering why they aren't doing the Waterloo and City line with the new trains first? It's only 2 stops so it could be easily done compared to the other lines. Besides they could test the ATO and driverless trains on it before they do the other 3 lines... Just a thought. Also will the new trains on the drain be 4 or 5 cars?

Cost. Does London Underground even have funding for 92 stock replacement?

Is the Waterloo & City even a good testing environment for the characteristics of the rest of the network?

Good point I was just curious. I was just thinking that it is a small line with only a few trains

The original Victoria Line stock had its ATO tested between Hainault and Woodford. Brakes proven in a leafy rainy environment will work in a clean dry one... the reverse is not necessarily true.

And the W&C stock was often not used in late evening, Saturday afternoons, Sundays. It was often shut for months during the pandemic.

So even if you consider the stock 30 years old, it has only run for nearer the equivalent of 20 years of normal tube stock. (ok, I realise this is clunky, but just trying to emphasise a point)
