maybe WMR via the snow Hill lines or additional GWR services?
selfishly, I’d like a faster service from Birmingham to hereford and Great Malvern and changing at Worcestershire Parkway might help with that.

Where are the WMR services going to go, terminating at the station? Same goes for GWR, where are they coming from and would they work across the Cotswolds single line? I doubt its going to be quicker via Worcestershire Parkway if you factor in the connectional allowance and then having a timetable to facilitate that being as close a connection as possible. Bromsgrove to Great Malvern is around 34 minutes. Worcestershire Pwy to Great Malvern is 22 minutes. Bromsgrove to Worcestershire Parkway is going to be around 10 minutes, plus the minimum connection of 5 minutes, so its actually slower.

Worcestershire Parkway is one of the recommended locations in the New Towns Taskforce report:

Worcestershire Parkway

Worcestershire-Parkway-map.svg

The new town proposal at Worcestershire Parkway is a 1,130 hectare greenfield site based around an existing train station located to the south-east of Worcester, in Wychavon. There are currently plans for 10,000 homes on this site, but new town designation has the potential to bolster the speed and scale of delivery. New town designation would not only boost this delivery but also ensure quality of placemaking and sustainability by adopting the New Towns Taskforce placemaking principles.

In particular the report says this about rail at Worcestershire Parkway:

Worcestershire Parkway presents an opportunity for the government to capitalise on the existing transport infrastructure and its strategic location. As announced at the Spending Review, the site will benefit from the development of the Midlands Rail Hub which will enable more frequent services towards Birmingham, Cheltenham and Cardiff.[footnote 120] Additionally, the site is only seven minutes by train from Worcester, thirty minutes by train from Birmingham New Street, and next to the M5, connecting the Midlands with the South West region. The site also benefits from direct rail connections to Oxford, London and Bristol.

Worcestershire Parkway should not have more services. They already have Cardiff-Nottinghams every hour and some Plymouth-Edinburghs, Plymouth-Aberdeens and Bristol-Manchesters.

On the last visit I saw a Plymouth-Aberdeen four coach stop with only six passengers alight and four get on. Only one passenger had a case. Obviously at midday nearly all passengers were not travelling long distances.

I would like to see an extension of 25kv from Bromsgrove to a bay platform with extension of Birmingham cross rail electric services but I don't suppose there are two additional paths per hour between Bromsgrove and Parkway..

Now Wychover has been cancelled there is no need for more services.
