Couchette Bookings - Paying for single occupancy

Good evening. My son and I are travelling from Zagreb to Stuttgart at the end of September, on the overnight service (Lizinski?). We wanted to book a 2 berth sleeper, but they're sold out. However, I could see an option to purchase a 4 berth couchette, for sole occupancy, or private occupancy by up to three persons. It's quite expensive, but we're seriously considering taking up this option, just for privacy. The question I want to ask is - Can/Will the Couchette car attendant guarantee that your compartment will not be occupied by other passengers, especially if that train is particularly busy, and there is a demand for beds?

Surely there won't be more passengers than tickets, as all tickets for this train must be purchased in advance with a reservation? In that case you won't end up in an situation where there is a higher than expected demand.

Mind you: that couchette could be missing on the day of travel - you may have to move to two seats instead.
