I've spoken to several NR employees, ex-employees (who decided to get out rather than move to Concrete Keynes) and contractors and they all say the same basic thing; that the company is run in a very bad way (actually they tend to put it a lot more bluntly than that! ). So on that basis, good riddance!

Reading RAIB reports reveal interesting details about the way NR is organised, which seems to back up the idea that the company is badly run. In brief, constant reorganisations, changes to departments, and a lack of consistency between areas.

I think if you asked that question to anyone in any job, they would say that about their bosses. Save for say google or apple perhaps.

Getting a job on the railways is very hard, I would advise against getting out and for keeping their heads down.

Companies know that forced relocation will mean that many employees will leave as they are unable due to personal circumstances to uproot their families. It's a decision for each individual, but it can be a massive upheaval to relocate.
