Anyone still thinking of going on this train on Saturday September 26 might want to get a booking in sharpish, as there are now fewer than 50 standard class seats still to be sold.

Train will be worked by a specially-formed eight-coach FGW HST with 2.5 first class coaches. As well as serving stations on the Cotswold Line, it will be calling at Ashchurch for Tewkesbury.

Timings are here:

I am booked. I really enjoyed last years trip to Plymouth. Tenby should be lovely. Hopefully nice enough weather to sit on the beach. A great way to spend a day with a group of rail enthusiast and a HST

It was a super trip. A bit late in both directions but nobody seemed to mind. I am not sure why we had to spend so long in Swansea on the way down. I presume it was a fault on the train.

The lovely weather helped. Great views of the coast and the Severn on the way down. Tenby was of course delightful in the sunshine. Fish, chips, ice cream and the beach for me. The train crew worked really hard some of them did the whole return trip from Oxford with a run back to Swansea while we relaxed in Tenby.

I am already looking forward to next year.

Best wishes, Stephen.
