Hi im doing a report on the Cost per mile of track on the Uk railways.

Cost per mile in terms of what? Fuel costs per mile? Passenger revenue per mile? Subsidy per mile? Are you talking about the whole network (and by UK do you also mean to include railways in Northern Ireland which are much different to GB operations) or just certain lines on the network?

If you want help then you need to be a whole lot more specific about what you actually want to know, otherwise this thread isn't going to get very far!

My assignment is very vauge, but "ainsworth74" I think it has to take into account all of what you said. I am looking into both the GB and Northern Ireland as two different companies because of the public and private ownership.

Any help that anyone can provide for me would be great.
