Cosham stops

I've been looking at changing trains at Cosham from the Cardiff/Bristol- Portsmouth service to the Southampton Brighton service, and note that a lot of the Cardiff/Bristol-Portsmouth services don't stop at Cosham any more.
Last time I looked, 2-3 years ago, I think practically all did stop at Cosham. Why has this changed?

Not sure why its changed, but does maybe changing trains at Southampton Central, Fareham or even Fratton, not still give onward journey opportunities if travelling towards Brighton?

Yes it does, particularly now Southampton-Brighton is 30 minutely. There's no issue for interchange with not stopping at Cosham, I'm just interested in why the change was made

Evening GWR trains (after about 8pm) haven't called at Cosham for a good while now - I think this was due to local vandalism issues.

Three weekday off-peak GWR trains in each direction no longer call at Cosham to improve the punctuality / reliability of these services. This was done initially as a trial, to see if removing the call actually did make any difference, but evidently the outcome of the trial hasn't been conclusive, so it's still ongoing.
