Planned trip Paddington - Penzance next week got to change plans due to GWR strike Saturday. Was going catch 1204 on Friday instead but now seen elsewhere that it's rammed every day (and Newquay boardmasters will be on as well) as it's first super off-peak through train. Thoughts on changing at Plymouth out of 1104 or 1304 please ? Another option is 0804 but noticed it ran as 5 car yesterday - anyone know if it's booked for 9/10 car normally? Expect a lot of people will travel day early due to strike but think afternoon/evening will be busiest ? TIA

Looks like the 0804 is booked a 9 car normally with yesterday being a shortform.

0804 I think is pretty quiet anyway. 1304 isn't too bad either. 1104 can be very busy especially on a Friday, so I'd avoid that if you want a quieter train. 1304 is a 10 car (almost always means the rear 5 will be fairly busy but the front 5 less so.

If Boardmasters is on you'd best be first on the train at Paddington!

Make sure you have a reservation. You can make seat reservations on GWR website without a corresponding ticket now.
Go to my account (3 horizontal lines in green circle, top right of home page)
My dashboard
View bookings
Make a seat/bike reservation.
Select the type of ticket you hold and it’s self explanatory from therez
