A large Rail Replacement operation is underway in Cornwall running from today for the next 13 days.

Operators noted briefly today were

Cymru Coaches, Swansea
Zen Travels West Midlands, Walsall

Will add further observations to the list over the coming days.

The 2nd and 3rd have came an awfully long way, quite surprised more wasn't done locally.

Supply and demand. If there was always a plentiful supply of local operators prepared to do the work for a low price then all the work would be covered by them. If the net has to be spread wider and the operator can collect depot to depot rates daily, they will willingly come from far.

Stagecoach South West, seem to be working the St Austell to Liskeard stoppers with E200's.

Maybe thsts why there are so many cancellations in Exeter again. 2 hr gaps or worse on city routes are common the past couple of weeks.

The traffic commissioner will love that - the last trip to public inquiry was fairly lenient though they ended up giving free travel to the customers.

Yes, Plymouth has a dedicated events team and vehicles. No other depots involved. The E200s are from the 3/93 service and have been subbed with double deckers on the 3/93 to release the single deckers.

All the dartline vehicles are running on Plymouth citybus operator discs and have notices stating “on loan to Plymouth citybus” in the first side window

There has been a fatal crash on the a38 between Saltash and trerulefoot roundabout (near Liskeard)

Unfortunate for all involved not to mention those trying to travel. Maybe its time for a rail replacement ferry.
