Cornwall accomodation

In August i have to spend the night in Cornwall before a camping holiday with my gf and wondered if anyone could recommend somewhere decent. I am looking for a good quality yet decent priced B&B.

I will fly into Newquay about noon and spend the day pottering about on a Ride Cornwall Ranger so am easy on locations.

I MUST ,upon pain of death, be at Truro station by noon the next day

PS I cant use the tent as the GF will bring it with her

I highly recommend this place, and think trip advisor does as well. It's right on the 2 route between helston and Penzance. Hourly service to Penzance bus station from about 8am, where you can likely connect onto a train for your 12 noon at Truro

I should note my opinion is slightly biased as the owner is a family friend, but trip advisor doesn't lie. She has also featured and came out highly in channel 4s four in a bed.

thanks - i saw that one on TA and was impressed. The only issue is that i think it is to far from the station sadly and not convenient for our ultimate destination at Porthkerris

I stayed at the Royal Inn in Par for a few days last year on a non-cranking holiday - very handy location (2 mins from station), decent price, good breakfast, and a bar with several beers on...

The Royal Inn is my favourite place to stay to explore Cornwall with a Ride Cornwall ticket. The food and the beers are great, and it's just a short step to the platform at Par station. I don't know if the cost would meet your definition of decent, though, as I haven't been there for a few years and I don't know what they'll be charging for a room these days. I thought it was good value whenever I stayed there, though.

The village to the left of the hotel when you come out of it, I think it's Par Green, is worth a stroll through. There are a couple of shops for supplies, should you require them, (if memory serves there's a Spar and a Costcutter), a chippie, a Chinese and a decent pub called the Welcome Home.

There is a lovely sandy beach about 30 mins walk in a south easterly direction from the hotel.

thanks for the recommendation - what a fantastic pub/hotel. Really comfortable, great beer and 2 seconds from the station!

I will stay again and must do a good trip adviser entry
