Corby station...

...is re-opening. I know it's a bit late for posting, but about 1 month ago, it was announced that corby train station will re-open. Trains will run from Corby and Kettering train station, so good news for rail fans in Corby!

But the person who first came up with them called them Railway Stations. Askoxford.com also calls them Railway Stations, but it also has some crazy acceptable uses for apostrophes, so I take what it says with a pinch of salt.

I'm guessing this will be operated by Stagecoach with the new EM franchise eventually then? Is it planned to just be a Corby-Kettering shuttle?

I think what's planned in the EM franchise is a semi-fast service from Leicester - London via Oakham and Corby, before re-joining the MML at Kettering. I'm not sure about the frequency though.

I thought it was extending this train that is going to terminate at Kettering to Corby.

Will be interesting to see what stock gets used for the Kettering and eventually Corby service, since they arn't getting any new trains other than reinstating 1 HST. Also be interesting to see what time it runs at. I presume it will use either the xx:15 or xx:45 path from St Pancras off peak, but at peak times I know of no paths (17:15, 17:45 and 18:15 are taken).

The xx:15 and xx:45 path is taken up by 'Cityflier' Thameslinks I think.
