Pakistan Railways has some BCU-30 Electric Locomotives lying idle.
These are 3000 hp with 4 dc traction motors, 750 hp each.
Can anyone through some light on how to convert these to Electro-Diesels ?
Thanks for your Help.

Are you serious??

Oh well.

What you need is a 3000hp diesel engine, a big tank of diesel fuel and a 3000hp generator.

The diesel engine drives the generator which supplies the electicity to power the electric motors.

You may have some difficulty fitting these extra items into the existing locomotives as they are quite big!

There's no way on this planet that you'll be able to shoehorn all the equipment required in. It is unlikely that you'd even be able to fit a low-power set for limited milage, low speed, use.
