Just realised that I've never seen a path of a Container Train heading via the mainline between Stevenage and Alexandra Palace. Does this happen much? Cheers

I'm not an expert on gauging, and sure someone will be along with more details, but containers generally aren't in gauge that way and so have to run via the Hertford Loop.

Welwyn Tunnels, Potters Bar Tunnels, Hadley Wood Tunnels, Barnet Tunnels and Wood Green Tunnels.

And no, not reasonably.

Though with it being a hugely volatile bottleneck, I doubt anyone is rushing to get it changed
