Contactless with Concessions - query

Probably a couple of really dumb questions due to my unfamiliarity with touch in/out using contactless card yesterday on London Overground.

Using a contactless card (or phone) for start and end of each journey, if holding a concession Railcard (Disabled or Senior for example), how would concessions apply and what would be required?

If touching in/out for more than one person (say travelling with Disabled partner), what would be required to enable single contactless card to be used for more than one passenger?

There are no concessions for contactless card use. A suitable framework to offer them hasn't been developed yet. Instead, Oyster has to be used.

Contactless is for one person only (as is Oyster).

In terms of what would be required, that is a speculative matter.

Concessions for contactless was “promised” for 2024, so don’t hold your breath. If you have an Oyster you have to then find a station where the staff are in the right mood to add the concession, or even know how. It’s a right faff! I can’t be bothered, but I don’t go to London often so I just stick to full fare contactless.

It is supposed to be part of Project Oval which is a long way behind its original schedule.

For everthing other than some rail staff concessions it is very easy to find a station where the staff will add the discount to an Oyster card.

Yes, agreed. I find it's best if you stick to Underground stations at large London Terminals. Ideally you want to avoid rush hour because the staff who do it usually also act as barrier staff.

My last couple of railcard additions (losing the Oyster card in between) were at Aldgate East and West Hampstead, both without any difficulty. And a compact station does mean it's usually easy to find the staff!

Thanks for all of the responses. I live outside of London and outside the range of contactless ticketing atm, ordinarily using LO or UG as part of a Travelcard when in London. Yesterday was a bit more out of the ordinary as I traveled from Harlesden to South Kenton, then back to Willesden Jcn. I had intended to use the ticket machine but the screen advised that travelling contactless was cheaper option. I didn't / couldn't use my Railcard in this case. The experience just triggered the questions I asked which have been answered. Thank You

I assume you mean with contactless or Oyster rather than ticketless! Ticketless would certainly be much cheaper... unless caught of course.
