Due to not having a tram then losing the trolley bus battle Leeds was awarded a one off cash payment to be spent on a range of schemes to improve public transport -- mainly buses. As expected most of the money has been squandered on stupid 'vanity' projects'. How would you have used £190m to improve public transport in leeds?

It’s 20% of what is needed to make any reasonable intervention so it was never going to stretch far. The money has been targeted pretty well. Yes, there are a few bits where I am a little disappointed about the volume of work done in certain areas.

Personally, I felt that the Headrow needed doing. The traffic islands had aged badly and created an inflexible layout if a vehicle broke down.

I would have probably followed most of what has been done. I’m a little concerned about the amount of money that has been allocated to projects to improve traffic flow to make the buses run better with no public transport priority added.
