Confusing Ticket Restriction ?

Booking an Off Peak Return from Bradford on Avon for a weekday in July.

Time restrictions apply to this fare, code LC.

Travel is allowed via any permitted route.

Outbound:
This restriction applies: Mondays to Fridays
Not valid for travel on trains timed to depart earlier than shown from the following stations:

• 08:20 from Avoncliff (if travel via Bath Spa, restriction time shown applies eastbound from this station)
• 08:39 from Bath Spa
• 08:20 from Bradford on Avon (if travel via Bath Spa, restriction time shown applies eastbound

Outbound:

The 08.12 from BoA connecting with the 08.44 from Bath to Paddington is shown as available to book as an Off Peak Return

But the LC code is ambiguous to me and I do not really understand what it means and what it applies to ?

It's basically saying that since you are travelling via Bath, the 08:20 restriction from BoA doesn't apply to you. You can take an earlier westbound train from BoA to Bath, to get there in time for the first train that leaves Bath after 08:39.

You can always rely on the fare that a journey planner offers you for a particular journey. The vast majority of the time, they will sell fares in the way that the train companies intend - as is the case here. In the small percentage of cases where they sell Off-Peak fares in ways that train companies don't want, you would still be contractually entitled to travel in accordance with the itinerary you select when booking. If there were any issues on the ground (which as mentioned, wouldn't happen here since this is entirely valid) then you would have recourse against the train company for acting in breach of contract.
