I am looking at the information on the LNWR for travelling to Northampton on Sunday 15th February, when there are engineering works until about midday: https://www.londonnorthwesternrailw...ices-between-london-euston-sunday-15-february

The information in the link is:

Amended services between to / from London Euston on Sunday 15 February until 11:50

Routes Affected

All routes to / from London Euston

Validity Period

Sunday, 15 February 2026 to Sunday, 15 February 2026
Engineering work is taking place between Rugby and Coventry, closing some lines until 11:50.

Avanti West Coast:

Until 11:50, trains may be retimed by up to 30 minutes with extended journey times.

London Northwestern Railway:

Until 11:50, trains will be slightly retimed between Coventry / Rugby and Northampton / London Euston.

The following services will be amended:
  • The 07:24 London Euston to Birmingham New Street service is retimed to depart London Euston later at 07:29 and will continue to run 5 minutes later until Northampton
  • The 07:51 London Euston to Crewe service is retimed to depart from London Euston at 07:44 and will run earlier between London Euston and Nuneaton
  • The 09:34 Birmingham New Street to London Euston service is retimed to depart from Northampton at 10:50 and will run 10 minutes later between Northampton and London Euston.
The following services will not run:
  • 06:39 Milton Keynes Central to London Euston
  • 06:55 London Euston to Northampton
  • 07:10 Milton Keynes Central to London Euston
  • 07:38 Milton Keynes Central to London Euston
Rail replacement buses will operate between Northampton / Milton Keynes Central and Watford Junction.

You are advised you can use your ticket on London Overground services between Watford Junction and London Euston.
It's the last two sentences that have me confused.

As far as I can see, trains are retimed or (in a small number of cases) cancelled; but there are no replacement buses to / from Northampton (according to Real Time Trains) and no need for any because trains from Northampton are running to both Milton Keynes and Rugby (and beyond).

I can't see any reason to mention London Overground between Euston and Watford Junction either - both Avanti and LNWR are running to Euston.

Am I missing something or is this a poorly-updated page where the TOC has (probably) copied another page and left some irrelevant / confusing information in it?

The first few trains aren't running and are replaced by buses to Watford thence Overground?
I think you are right. I read the statements about rail replacement busses and Overground ticket acceptance as applying to the whole notice, rather than just to the four cancelled services. It could be laid out and written more clearly.
