Confused by off-peak ticket restriction code

I want a flexible return ticket from Peterborough to Cambridge via Ely, starting on a Monday and returning on Thursday of the same week. The journey planner (on LNER's website) is offering me an Off-Peak Return ticket costing £20.35 with a railcard, with restriction code CZ, which I'm trying to get my head round.

It's 'Valid on trains timed to depart before 04:30 and after 08:44', which is fine. But it also says 'For travel via Peterborough restriction 1L or 9D applies as appropriate to the direction of travel'. Codes 1L and 9D have a list of restrictions for trains arriving into or departing from London Terminals, London Liverpool Street, London St Pancras International, London Euston, Stevenage, Luton, Luton Airport Parkway, Bedford, Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central; as far as I can see none of these apply to my route, which doesn't involve any of those stations even as a calling point (and can't, since the ticket is only valid via Ely). But I'm confused about why a ticket would be given a restriction code all of the restrictions for which are specific to routes other than the one the ticket is for, so I'm worried I'm missing something. Can anyone help with this?

You are not travelling "via Peterborough", so you only need to refer to CZ.

Yes, it’s designed to apply to longer distance journeys.

That's right. Starting at Peterborough is not the same as going via Peterborough. Nothing to worry about here!
