When you book an off-peak return on the Greater Anglia main line it tells you that the first possible M -F train you can take leaves Stratford ( London) at 0937.
But if you go to the Tickets page and check the availability of off-peak returns this train is excluded with availability starting at 0938 !

One member of Anglia stuff said that this train is a 'grey area' and he'd allow off-peak tickets but other stricter ticket inspectors might not.
Somebody else just said it was an error. Which puts the ticket-holder in a difficult position.

I panicked and bought a second ticket to cover myself but feel I shouldnt have had to.

From what I can tell, if you’re travelling from Stratford you can use off peak from 0930 as per http://nre.co.uk/9A

However to give you an assured answer we would need to know your actual journey.

Thank you.
This is what it says on https://www.greateranglia.co.uk/tickets-fares/daily-tickets/peak-and-super-peak-tickets
Off-Peak:
Not to leave Liverpool St before 09:30 (Stratford 09:38, Tottenham Hale 09:40)

I travelled on Weds 27th Nov.

Restriction Code - 9A

<snip>

Applicable Days
Monday to Friday
Mondays to Fridays

Outward Travel

Valid on trains timed to depart:
  • <snip>
  • London Liverpool Street before 04:30 and after 09:29 and, to Ipswich and beyond, also to Brandon and beyond via Cambridge, before 16:29 and after 18:34.
  • <snip>
  • Stratford (London) before 04:30 and after 09:29 and, to Ipswich and beyond, also to Brandon and beyond via Cambridge before 16:37 and after 18:41.
  • <snip>
The ticket is valid 0930 onwards from both Liverpool Street and Stratford. The 0938 time given on the GA website is just GA trying to be helpful by specifying the actual time of the first train that it can be used on, however in this case it seems like the scheduled time has changed by 1 minute but the website information hasn't been updated, thus the confusion.

But the ticket is valid on the 0930 Stratford to Bishops Stortford (as well as the 0931 purple train to Shenfield). The GA website text is actively wrong.
