Conflicting moves and platform reoccupation allowances

Perhaps this is rather fundamental, but I'm wondering what the typical conflicting moves and platform reallocation allowances are, for, let's say, a major terminal station - let's say Waterloo if they are all different.

From looking at CWNs from the late 00s, early 10s period (typical of the contemporary era, I would imagine) it looks like this might apply at Waterloo:

Platform reoccupation - 4 mins
Time between previous conflicting inward move and subsequent outward move - 1 min, e.g. the Salisbury diesels arrive xx19 and xx49 and leave xx20 and xx50, so there's one conflicting move there per hour
Time between previous outward move and subsequent conflicting inward move - 4 mins
Headway between departures on fast lines - 2 mins, but longer if the first train stops at Clapham or Surbiton and the second doesn't.

Does this sound right?
Do any other terminals manage to cut the allowances, e.g. to 3 min platform reoccupation allowance?

Were the allowances less in the slam-door era?

3 minute platform reoccupation is the standard margin for reoccupation in opposing directions at most stations across the country. Some have more, so for example Brighton has a 4 minute margin for mainline services.

Junction margins vary a little more but the standard margin for conflict moves at most terminus stations tends to be 3 minutes, but often increases to 4 or larger margins depending on the type of move.

Thanks. Actually just been looking at the 1982 CWN for Waterloo and I can see some 3-min reoccupations there in the peak, but was struggling to find them for the 2009 equivalent.

Defensive driving definitely didn't exist in 1982 :) Nor TPWS.

True. On a related note, and this has come up before - but the 80s were notable for a lengthy run of 2-min headways out of Waterloo in the peak, including, in 1983, the 50-hauled Plymouth at 1738 immediately following the 1736 to Farnham, first stop Surbiton - and the '92' REP/TC express at 1744 immediately following the 1742 Guildford via Cobham, also first stop Surbiton.

Renmember as well London Waterloo track layout has been rebuilt in recent years. Some allowances were extended as a result of platform lengthening and effectively moving Waterloo departures across the layout and into the former International Platforms. This has the effect of changing allowances as well as TPWS, Defensive Driving and many more issues besides.

Network Rail publish all such values on their website, year by year, region by region.

NR Operational Rules

For Southern, the 2022 values are

Junction Margins Movement Margin
Between all conflicting movements except as below: 2 minutes
Between all conflicting movements following a class 4, 6, 7 or non-seasonal class 8: 3 minutes
Resetting of route for a departing service following the arrival/pass of a conflicting inwards service: 1 minute

Platform Reoccupation
Platform re-occupation in the same direction unless stated otherwise: 2 minutes
Reoccupation of platforms when a change of direction or a conflicting move is involved: 3 minutes

Southern does have a 2 minute standard junction margin, but at terminus stations there is almost always at least a 3 minute junction margin for terminus stations.

Indeed - and there is page after page of exceptions in the linked document. The values I quoted were the base values for that geographic area, but it takes a very patient genius to unravel it all!

Ah section 5.3, certainly my favorite section of the TPR's.
