Conductors & TM's- 6 month rule

Can anyone confirm exactly what format the '6 month rule' takes with regards to Conductor & Train Manager roles?

I applied for a Conductor role in March '17, and sat the interview in early May but didn't make the cut.

Does this mean I can reapply 6 months after March, or after May?

i've been led to believe by 2 TOCs that it is from the date of the stage you were unsuccessful, i.e. interview. so it may be worth emailing the TOC in question to get a solid answer

Agree with the second one. The application date is irrelevant. The assessment date is key, 6 months from fail date. Allegedly, you may only sit it twice, though many people including myself sat it thrice or more :P

Sadly date of rejection notification, so if they drag their heals it could be longer than the six months from actual interview.

The two strike rule applies only to conductor/Guard paper assessment as per the driver process, you can be interviewed as many times as you wish as long as you keep passing the paper assssmenents.
