I’ve recently applied to become a conductor for northern rail I was invited to take online assessment over the weekend which is was a lot harder than I thought it would be.
Since then the job has been took offline before I’ve had my results, does this mean position has likely been filled already

Hi Peter when did you apply for the position? I applied just before Xmas and got some test through around 2 weeks ago and was invited for an interview which I had on Friday but haven’t heard back yet they said it should be sometime this week but from what i gather they are taking a fair few on

It means that the vacancy has closed and they’re not accepting any more applications. There would have been a closing date, or said something along the lines of they’d close the vacancy once they have sufficient number of applications. It won’t be because the post has been filled.

What depot have you applied for? I would imagine your application will still be in progress and that they have just literally stopped any new applications.

Fair enough mate I applied Manchester fingers crossed you hear something back soon. Was about a week after I submitted tests I got a response

Where are you applying for? There was only 7 of us on the day but I think they are looking for more than that. Interview seemed to go pretty well I feel quite confident about the answers i gave and interviewer was saying they were the kind of answers they were after so with a bit of luck I will get the nod.

Maybe they are interviewing in stages because there’s so many to do, hopefully you hear something soon

Any idea what the salary is for a Conductor with Northern and how long the training takes?
