Conductor Training

I am hopefully very close to getting a start date having just completed my medical. I just have a couple of questions with regards to the training period and pre booked holidays.

Generally how long is the conductor training?
Having waited a long time in the talent pool for this position I would rather cancel a booked holiday if it means I could take up the role and I am guessing it isn't a) allowed & b) advisable to miss any of the training.

If anyone has any previous experience/advise it would be much appreciated.

I was supposed to start in April but because of a prebooked holiday had to wait until may and I've just finished my first week.
There's no holiday alowed during training and it lasts around 12 weeks.

I'm with Northern, I wasn't in a talent pool I had my interview in Feb and told them in Feb I was on holiday in April and he just said OK you'll have to go on the next course after April then

I have applied for a conductor role and was wondering if you had to attend an assessment and then an interview? If so, what was involved and what type of questions they ask in the interview?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did attend an assessment day then after passing all the tests I had an interview about 1-2 weeks later. For the assessment day you will be sent practice material. The interview was mainly questions which required you to give an example of when you had dealt with different situations.

What kind of tests were they that required the practice material and was it a role with GWR?

I have attended an assessment before and I had to do a concentration test so I just wondered if it was a similar thing.
