Conductor interview tomorrow

Just received an email saying that I have my interview for a conductor role tomorrow morning! Was wondering if anyone out there has any hints or tips.

Fingers crossed it goes well, recently went for driver job, passed assessment with flying colours and interview went well but sadly just missed out on the position but DM told me to apply for the conductor one...

Remember to include the importance of safety closely followed by customer service in every appropriate question. You will be the face of the TOC and appreciate the need to represent them in good light at all times aswell as being trustworthy as you will be interacting with vulnerable people, coming into contact with high value lost property, personal data and company cash/property.

Yes it is important you follow all safety rules but you also need to be able to use your initiative when it comes to showing discretion when the need arises or making judgement calls that will/may later be scrutinised by management.

They normally ask how you plan on getting to/from work at silly hours of the day and also what back up plans you have should car not start etc.

Yep, and when a difficult situation arises you can also be firm, tactful and authoritative which are important qualities to possess as you will deal with some very difficult people. This has to be carefully slipped into the convo with the interviewing panel - usually two managers.

Well that is the interview over. Now the nervous wait. Been told that we will find out in about 2 hrs as the medical is tomorrow.

Well, finally got the call I was waiting for!!! I have my medical tomorrow and start training tomorrow!!
