I recently had a final interview for a conductors job with FTPE

Does anyone have any idea how long it should take for me to get a final decision? It's been over a week now and not a peep.

Thanks

Where was it for? I had one for Lime Street just over a week ago. Was told decision was going to be made last Thursday or Friday. Not sure if they are emailing or notifying by post. Either way, should find out by end of this week really. Hopefully.

Liverpool to, must have seen you on the assessement day!

I'd previously taken conductor exams so wasn't there too long just had my interview

I am told they narrowed it down to 6 of us so you'd expect there to be a decision anytime now, 1 job opening and potentially a couple moving into a talent pool

Aye, that's what I was told. The girl interviewing ( I do know her name just not broadcasting it), said she was going on leave for two weeks, so was going to make a decision either Thursday or Friday last week. I am hoping that she has and it is now HR that will deal with it. But the start date is supposed to be beginning of June, so they are cutting it fine for anyone that needs to give notice.

Hopefully that's the case

I've learned to sit tight with railway recruitment, from previous experience we could be waiting a while. I'm in a talent pool with another TOC at the moment and it took them nearly a month to communicate that to me!

I contacted HR yesterday to simply ask how we would be contacted. They said it could be any or all methods, but the crucial thing was that they would be sending it out. With the Manager who did the interviews currently on leave until end of next week, I think it will now be the week after before we hear anything.

Cutting it very fine for notice periods if the course is indeed the early June one mentioned.

I know First have had a big recruitment drive so perhaps there is an outside chance the decision has been made but they haven't formally processed anything yet.

Bluebri, do you apply for every single railway job going?

Lol. I have applied for a few. I am pursuing a career change and with the length of the recruitment and competition for every job, I am simply not putting my eggs in one basket. I bet I'm not the only one either lol

Hi there.

I had my final interview for a conductor position at Manc P. last Thursday and I'm still waiting for a reply too. They said that they'd know by the end of the day but they were having some issues with the recruitment system they use to notify applicants.

Have you had any news on your application yet? I'm going to ring on Friday (having given over a week to hear anything) to see if I can get any news.

Good luck!

Hi

My interview was almost three weeks ago and still nothing

Calling HR can do no harm, I phoned a few days ago and all they told me was that my application was under consideration still.

Hi all.

I got in contact with HR yesterday and my number and query is being passed on to the people who it's related to. Looks like I'm going to have to wait over the bank holiday because I haven't heard anything yet today.

Let me know if you have any progression and good luck :)

Not heard anything myself. Was hoping to have heard either way by now. Perhaps by the end of the week.

Still no contact for anyone ?

HR were supposed to get in contact with me as of last Thursday but alas I've not heard anything. I have a specific number and I tried again today and went straight through to voicemail. I'm presuming I've been unsuccessful but I'm trying to find out if I've been talent pooled or just straight-up rejected.

Good luck and let me know!

I wouldn't be too down trodden yet, while there is no news there is still hope.

The majority of us in this thread had an interview the week before yours and still haven't heard. Good Luck, hope we all hear something one way or another this week,

Just an update for you all. Just been on the phone with resourcing at FTPE (I bet they're sick of me by now) and my application and interview is still being deliberated over.

I have to contact them again in a week if I haven't heard anything. So with a bit of luck we'll of all heard within a week with what's happening.

Good luck and let me know! :)

Just had a response, it was a thanks but no thanks

Back to the drawing board, with only one place on offer it was always going to be a tough task. I'll keep plugging away and hopefully one day my chance will come.

Congratulations to whoever got the job

Hi all.

Sorry to hear that man. I'm in the same boat, I just got my "thanks but no thanks" email ha.

A year and a half of trying and I'm still yet to get the job of my dreams. But I'll keep trying anyway.

Thanks for all of your help.

Peter.

One thing ive learned from reading this forum is that eventually if you keep at it rewards will come. The end reward is worth the persistence, this rejection will just make me more determined

The email First sent stated I cant apply with them for 6 months now so hopefully Arriva / Northern / Merseyrail have a recruitment drive soon!
