Conditions question: TOC Specific restrictions on GroupSave

Why not? It is there in black and white, they may give you more restrictive rights than in the NCoC if it is a condition of the ticket.

For your interpretation to be correct, the NCoC only needs the introduction as everything else would be worthless! You are basically saying that every time they give us some detail, it can be overridden by the introduction?

I strongly disagree. The introduction is saying that there may be some restrictions. The detail then tells us where these may occur.

There are no TOC specific conditions for the advance fares, so any restriction is printed on the ticket, this complies with the NCoC.

If there is a something in the conditions of a ticket which does not allow travel on a particular TOC, it doesn't need to be on the ticket because it is a condition of the ticket, not a restriction.

If it's not a restriction, it's not a restriction. If it is a restriction, it is a restriction.

To suggest that a restriction doesn't have to be given because it's a condition that restricts, is absurd in my opinion.

I was at Basingstoke yesterday, and noticed that there was a poster up in each ticket window saying that Groupsave was for Southwest Trains services only. Umm, can't you use Groupsave on FGW out of Basingstoke too?

Anyway, I then tried to get a Groupsave out of the TVM and couldn't. The option just didn't seem to be there! Was I missing something?

No, SWT just haven't set up groupsave on their TVMs. They say it is a revenue protection problem but have never explained why. A few other TOCs can do it no problem.

Ah OK. Anyone know if you can get Groupsaves out of FGW TVMs?
