Many, many months ago, I was traveling towards london on one of the tube lines (not going to mention which one, because I'm sure as hell dont want to cause any potential problems). We were traveling roughly 45mph and woosh a station wizzed by. And then all of a sudden on the intercom the driver said something like this "Ladies and gentlemen my apologies but I accidentally overshot *insert station* and thus will stop at the next station. All customers for *said station* please transfer to reach it. Again my apologies." No rain, not too dark, but I know our line got a green, so i guess he was a little preoccupied with keeping his speed up. Regardless, im sure LUL knew about this, so what might the consequences be for this?

If it's the first time, the T/Op would just be asked to write a memo, go for a fact-find with a Manager and then most likely have to an action plan for additional training/coaching with an Instructor for one or two days. If this, or similar incidents, such as Spads, happen a number of times again, then they may look at a transfer, redeployment, medical termination, etc.

As a passenger I'd be surprised, as so few Underground trains skip stations.

It would be a real (financial) pain if the next station's platforms have individual ticket barriers so that you must pass through ticket gates to reach the other platform. Even more so if the station is in a different fare zone. Sudbury Town, Kew Gardens, Woodside Park come to mind.
