Is the pass threshold lower for the conductors than for drivers and signalers? I'm guessing it is... based on the more customer facing aspect of the conductors role, plus they tend to use shapes/letters instead of the dots.

Not sure about the pass mark for the dots, varies from TOC to toc, but there are plenty of examples of people who have done to dots for a guards assessment who then don't have to do them again for drivers assessment as their original score was good enough.

In my experience of applying for the conductor role, particularly at interview the TOC I was applying to cared far more about the safety aspect of the role than the customer service side.
The concentration test for me was with dots not shapes.
